Hyden to Dudinin

Directions for the day:
From Hyden head back the way we came yesterday to Kondinin (60km) and turn south towards Kulin (23km). At Kulin we turn east to drive along the Tin Horse Highway for 17km, then turn around and go back to Kulin. We then head south-west towards Jitarning. Drive through Jitarning onto the Jitaming-Wickepin Road. Just out of Jitarning, turn left onto the Dudinin Road (23km from Kulin to the Dudinin turnoff).

Some history:
Kulin is a centre for the grain and sheep farms of the district, and has a population of 360. While travelling today, we will see some huge grain storage facilities.

Things to see

• The Tin Horse Highway near Kulin, a 17km stretch of road on the way to the Jilakin Race Track, decorated with horses made from a variety of materials. New `tin' horses are made each year leading up to the Jilakin Bush Races in October. We need to take care on this road, as it carries heavy haulage trucks, and the Shire Council advises to pull well off the road when stopping.
